Our Worship

Worship at Garden of Grace happens every Sunday at 3:00 PM. It’s the heartbeat of our week, the hour where we gather around a shared table, sing together, sit with scripture, and make space for the sacred.

Our services last about an hour. We follow the rhythms of the Christian year: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and the long stretch of ordinary time where most of life actually happens. Each season brings its own mood, its own music, its own questions.

We purposefully blend traditional and contemporary elements. You’ll hear hymns alongside newer songs. You’ll experience silence alongside celebration. We use screens so you can follow along without juggling a stack of books.

Communion is open to everyone, every time we share it.We’re not a performance. We’re a community worshiping together. Some Sundays are polished. Some are raw and honest. All of them are real.

Sermons

Our sermons explore scripture through the lens of real life. Pastor Eric preaches in a conversational style that invites reflection rather than delivering conclusions. Expect questions more than answers, honesty more than polish, and an approach that takes the Bible seriously without taking it literally.

Recent series have explored themes of waiting, transformation, healing, and what it means to prepare for something new. We draw on depth psychology, contemplative spirituality, and the lived experience of our community.

Music

Our music draws from a wide range of traditions. You’ll hear classic hymns reimagined, contemporary worship songs, gospel, and jazz-influenced arrangements. We accompany worship with piano and other instruments depending on the week.

The sound is warm, layered, and always rooted in participation; we sing together, not at each other. Several of our members also sing with the Midlands Men’s Chorus, and we value the connection between our musical life and the wider arts community in Columbia.
